Where to Stay in the North Georgia Mountains: Big Canoe Airbnb

DSC_0498.JPG

This summer my side of the family decided to rent an Airbnb in the mountains of North Georgia for a week-long getaway. It honestly was the perfect destination to relax, hike, swim, eat s'mores, stay up late playing games, and just spend some quality time with one another.

If your family is looking for a mountain getaway, and Georgia is within driving distance, I would encourage you to check out the community of Big Canoe. It's very secluded and situated in the most beautiful natural setting.

The 5 bedrooms were cozy and beautifully decorated, but the best part was the common areas like the living room and kitchen. This main floor is very open-concept, so someone could be cooking dinner, while everyone else was hanging out at the (wonderfully enormous) table and still be involved in the conversation.

We also spent plenty of time lounging on the screened-in porch with a fireplace. I took my coffee and laptop out there every morning before the rest of my family woke up to get some work done, and that mountain vista was the perfect start to my day.

We loved our time in this beautiful cabin, and only wished we could stay longer. There are hiking trails, 2 pools, a lake with paddleboats, kayaks, and canoes, and a rock slide in the community for your use.

Don't forget to use my link to get $40 off your first stay with Airbnb and search for Big Canoe, GA! It's the best option for spending quality time with family as you get to cook, clean, and lounge together. You get to start your day with coffee together and end your day with drinks and games.

By the way, if you have a smaller family, or just your immediate family wants to schedule a getaway to Big Canoe, there are treehouses you can rent for a few nights in the community. We got lost on our way to the pool one day and ended up driving through an entire tiny neighborhood of treetop houses.

If you look up Big Canoe, GA on Airbnb, some of the first options that come up are treehouses. They are amazing. You should do it. $40 off. DO it.

Enjoy your mountain getaway!
